Millie M. Adan
Millie M. Adan currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), leveraging nine years of experience within (H.A.S.) where she previously held roles as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Compliance Officer. In her tenure as Vice President of Human Resources, Millie implemented strategic human resource management strategies encompassing recruitment, training, and retention initiatives.
As CEO, Millie assumes responsibility for formulating and overseeing the overarching business operations strategy. Her extensive background as an operational manager, strategic thought partner, and leader of organizational culture equips her to design and integrate cross-team systems and processes, operationalize strategic plans, and maintain a human-centered focus throughout implementation.
Millie's professional journey includes pivotal roles such as Chief Human Resources Officer at SOS Children’s Villages of Illinois, and positions as a Workforce Planning Supervisor and Industrial Engineer Supervisor at United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS). Across these roles, she spearheaded initiatives ranging from onboarding and workplace performance enhancement to policy development, employee relations in union environments, and HR marketing.
Educationally, Millie holds a Master’s in Business Administration from National Louis University, a Master’s in Strategic Human Resource Management and Development from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Xavier University. She is certified as a Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and as a Strategic H.R. Business Partner (sHRBP) by the Human Capital Institute (HCI). Additionally, she holds certifications in Foundations of Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Marketing Strategy from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (CNP).
Outside her professional sphere, Millie contributes her expertise to various boards including her role as ASI Board President, Board Member of Lakeside Community Committee, and Hamdard Community Health Center Inc. She also serves on the Employee Advisory Board for the College Career Consortium of Illinois (CCCIllinois). Furthermore, Millie engages in volunteer work with Latinos Progresando Inc. and Oak Leyden Developmental Services.

Tom Hartmann
After 14 years running his family’s business, Tom transitioned into the healthcare field, where he has successfully launched four different electronic health record systems over the course of his career. In his role at H.A.S., Tom helps manage all program data as well as the agency’s technology systems. Tom is a graduate of Northern Illinois University.
