The Recovery Support Services program is a community outreach mode of service delivery that offers rich opportunities for assessing an individual’s strengths and helping them make use of these strengths to positively impact their life. Recovery support is focused in advocacy and provided by individuals with life experience in recovery. It is the process of giving and receiving non-clinical assistance to help facilitate recovery journeys. The recovery support system helps individuals to identify and build support relationships that provide a strong foundation of recovery and healing. Individuals learn to move from sole reliance or temporary supportive relationships with health care professionals, to permanent natural supportive relationships in the community.
