Under a contract with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Probation Office, HAS provides substance abuse treatment, psychiatric assessments with medication monitoring if needed, and follow-up services, mental health counseling, and urine specimen collection for drug screening for federal probationers.

Substance abuse services consist of intensive outpatient treatment (group treatment), Aftercare Services. and individual counseling. A licensed psychiatrist provides evaluations for clients who are suspected of having a mental illness which may require medication and/or psychotherapy.

If medication is recommended and prescribed, the psychiatrist continues to monitor clients to see how well they are responding. A licensed clinical professional counselor provides individual mental health counseling. In addition, clients are screened at random for drug abuse.
