ANGER MANAGEMENT & PAIP SERVICES
Anger
can be a simple emotion that everyone must manage on a day to day basis or anger
can become a dysfunctional issue which may adversely affect a person's physical health,
emotional wellbeing and interpersonal relationships. For some, anger may manifest
itself in such a way that it comes to the attention of the court system and judges
may require an offender to complete an "anger management" program to satisfy
supervision, conditional release, or probation requirements. HAS, Inc.
offers an Anger Management Program which consists of short-term outpatient individual
and group counseling. Anger management services can generally be completed within
18 hours of counseling.
Partner
Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) services are often required by the courts for
offenders charged with domestic violence offences. To satisfy court treatment
mandates, PAIP services must comply with guidelines established by the Illinois
protocol for partner abuse intervention programs. PAIP services at HAS, Inc.
meets these requirements and is approved by the Illinois Department of Human
Services and local courts. Successful completion of PAIP services requires
participation over a 26 week period.
All
services are provided in a caring, supportive, culturally-sensitive manner
and are facilitated in Spanish or English. Participation in the program is
voluntary and completely confidential; however participants who are mandated
to services via the court will need to grant a release of information to
their court social worker or probation officer. Help is available by
