Domestic violence is one of the most frequent forms of violence against women, besides sexual harassment, rape, stalking, incest, etc. It is also the least reported.

Husbands, lovers, and boyfriends commit domestic violence as a way to control and terrorize their partners. Domestic violence is perpetrated against women across all economic and professional levels, different religions, races and ethnic groups.
