Treating Moms Well was established in 2008 to create awareness about Postpartum Depression (PPD) and to raise funds to help women who would otherwise lack access to lifesaving PPD services.
Approximately 15-20 percent of new mothers—950,000 American women every year—experience PPD, making it the #1 complication of childbirth in the United States. Left untreated, PPD has serious, long-term consequences for both mothers and children. And although the Illness responds extremely well to treatment, 95 percent of sufferers go undiagnosed.
This is where HAS is making a difference. Our PPD program is the only community-based PPD program in Illinois. Our services are available to all women, including those who lack health insurance or the means to access private services.
Your support of Treating Moms Well will assist HAS in raising awareness about PPD, expand our treatment services, and help hundreds of families impacted by this disorder. Help us celebrate mothers everywhere—and put an end to PPD!
