Youth Prevention Program’s Anti-Substance Abuse Training for Parents Featured in The Gate
The Youth Prevention Program’s work with Hedges Elementary School and the Peace and Education Coalition to prevent youth substance abuse was recently profiled in The Gate newspaper. Program staff work with parents in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, helping them develop strategies for talking with their kids about drugs and alcohol and preventing their abuse. The program also includes a “train the trainer” component in which parents learn to share these skills with others. Read the full Gate article here.
